The battle on who take over the helm of affairs in Taraba State come 2023 may have just taken a new dimension as Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha is reportedly absent from the North East PDP Convention fueling the speculation that the Senator may pitch tent with the All Progressive Congress comes 2023.
Many believe the absence of the Senator from the convention is cause by the loggerhead between the Senator and the Taraba State Governor, Arch. Darius Ishaku with unconfirmed report having it that the Senator’s camp has dragged the governor to EFCC.
Though the disagreement between the governor and the senator had been publicly denied by the both camp on several occasions but the recent attempt by the Governor to stop the flag off of the Marraraba – Donga road, a project initiated by the senator becomes the ground for this argument.
Unverified information also has it that the Senator may have his hand in the ongoing ASUU strike rocking the Taraba State University, Jalingo so as to make the governor appears effortless before the people of state, though many believe this to be just fabricated lies as their has been series of strike in the state before the disagreement between the Senator and Governor.
The alleged fight between the Governor and Senator is said to have been caused by the refusal of the governor to pass on the baton to the Senator in the 2023 as the Governor has his eyes on another candidate.
The absent of the Senator in the meeting is fueling the speculation that the Senator may soon defect from the People’s Democratic Party.
Though Sen. Bwacha’s direction if he decamp from the People’s Democratic Party is not yet known but with recent political romance between the Senator and members of the All Progressive Congress a possible defection to the APC cannot be rule out.
