The Adamawa state Government has directed students in Primary six, Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) students that will be writing terminal examinations to resume on Tuesday 4th August, 2020.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital, Mrs Wilbina Jackson, on Wednesday made this clear in a statement sign by her.
Jackson said, “ Despite the challenges accompanied by COVID-19, the Education of the younger generation is a must for us to consider”.
“So am calling on all parents and relevant stakeholders that education must strive under all conditions”.
She also noted in her statement that, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri has directed that the resumption date for the 2019/2020 Academic session is Aug. 4, 2020 for all existing students in Primary 6, JSS3 and SSS3 respectively.
“All the necessary preventive measure given by the NCDC must be adhere to during this period, which includes; frequent and proper hand washing with soap or rubbing of hands with alcohol-based sanitizer, use of face masks and maintaining physical and social distancing”.
She also directs Traditional leaders, Religious Leaders, and stakeholders within the state to educate the followers and congregations on the need to abide by the NCDC standards during and after this period.
