News reaching arewafocus indicate that the rescheduled local government and ward election in Taraba state has been going on smoothly across all the 16 local government of Taraba state.
According to our Correspondents there is a poor turn out though the election is going on hitch free across all polling unit.
The situations is no different in Governor Ishaku’s Home town, Takum, as residents were seen going about their normal unit.
Governor Ishaku Vote
Governor Ishaku and Wife arrived Barrister Anna arrived unit 005 of Gahwetun Ward around 11 and proceeded to cast his vote.
according to an eye witness it was the arrival of the Governor and his wife that draw the attention of people to the unit.
Other unit in Takum were only occupied by electoral staff and few persons. When our Correspondent arrived Mbarika unit of Dutse ward, around 11:23am it was disclosed to our reporter that the election has been close and result taken to the ward collection center.
SITUATION IN JALINGO
across all polling unit in Jalingo the state Capital their is low turn out.
Mr Hamisu Diko a voter at unit 001 Sintali ward told our Correspondent that he refuse to participate in the election as their was no opposing voice.
However the Taraba state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) boycotted the election after accusing the Chairman Taraba State Election Commission (TSIEC), Mr Philip Duwe of double standard. according to the All Progressive Congress the time frame for the rescheduled election is to short to perform all party activities before the election.
