In a move to end the ongoing Crisis between Tiv and Jukun ,men of God under the Tiv Clergy Forum in Taraba State, had today 14th June, 2020 proffer solution to the Taraba state government on necessary measures needed to end the crisis rocking Southern and Central Taraba .

They decision was reached after a stakeholders meeting involving notable and highly respected Tiv Clergies at Mutum-Biyu, The local Government Capital of Gassol Local Government in Taraba state.

In the message to Gov. Ishaku, they clergies, call on the Governor to do everything possible in his power to restore peace between the Jukun and Tiv’ ethnic group who have long live together in peace and harmony.

They clergies present at the meeting include: Rev. Fr. Simon Akuraga and Pastor James Unongo, who signed the communique issued at the end of the meeting on behalf of the forum.

The Forum lamented that the prolonged crisis cost many lives and rendered several homeless. The group refer to the ongoing crisis as evil in the sight of God.


The forum acknowledge the numerous peace meeting as Gov. Ishaku’s methodology in tackling the crisis and advised the Governor, to improvise his strategies as “the numerous peace meeting” has failed drastically.

The Clergymen finally called on the government of Taraba state to deploy security to the affected areas, provide relief materials to displaced person’s and setup a commission of inquiry to dig deep into the current situation and proffer lasting solution to it.
