The Nigerian Army has arrested man who allegedly knocked down the Commanding Officer, 2 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Ribadu cantonment, Kaduna, Lt. Col. Abraham Gbileve.
The Deceased Lt. Col. Abraham, resumed dutie as a Commanding Officer three month ago and visited his home town Benue state, for vacation before the incidence occurred.
The incidence took place in the Benue state Capital Markurdi it was learned.
According to the Punch newspaper, the Late Lt. Col. Was in company of his friends at a bar drinking, when he send his driver on an errand, when his driver did not return on time, his friend offered to take him home, it was when the friend was trying to reverse the vehicle that he lost controlled and knocked down the Lt. Col. Who was sitting in a Chair behind the car.
The friend was subsequently taken into military custody for investigation.
Until his appointment, he had spent five years in the North-East fighting Boko Haram insurgents.
The spokesman, Nigerian Army, Col. Sagir Musa, could not be reached for comments as he did not respond to calls to his mobile telephone and had yet to respond to an SMS on the incident as of the time of filing this story.
