The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB has announced it suspension of the compulsory use of the National Identity Number (NIN) for registration of applicants for 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME).
The Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede made the announcement at the Jamb headquarters in Bwari, Abuja while briefing pressmen on Saturday morning.
Oloyede was joined at the briefing by the Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission, Aliyu Aziz.
The board had explained that the decision to suspend this becomes necessary due to stress applicant pass through to enroll for the NIN.
The board also disclosed that the need will be a basic perquisite for the 2021 registration.
